This year has been like no other for the Halifax Real Estate Market. In recent memory, active listings are typically well over 1000 for single-family homes, and much more than the present numbers for condos as well. We are in a very competitive market for buyers and a lucrative market for sellers.
The number of sales that occurred this year in comparison to last year was either almost the same or increased slightly. With the limited inventory we had this year, this is incredible. The sales should be in decline with such limited inventory, however, there are some seriously motivated buyers in the area.
We all know that the houses and condos that went up for sale this year sold as very fast rates. We can see that the average days that a condo or home sat on the market was significantly lower than the previous year. This is predicted to continue into 2021.
Both markets (homes and condos) are in the seller's favour as they have been for all of 2020. If your thinking of selling you home for top dollar, don’t hesitate this year.
